I was helping my sister yesterday at one of the farmers markets that I do for her and got back to the farm to off load the produce, I rattled the barn door which they promply opened. My son stuck his head out and said 'Hi mum' I said Hi back and noticed my sister standing by the door, or who I thought was my sister when the door completely opened the lady standing there was my other sister Dawn who now lives in the back of beyond in France, between Beverly(farm sister) and Dawn(France sister) they had planned for her to come over to bring her son to see his dad(very complicated family and a long story).
What a wonderful surprise I couldn't say anything for nearly 10 minutes I just cried and hugged her as I haven't seen her for nearly 18mths. My mum didn't know either so the scenario was repeated later.
We are going to have a lovely Christmas this year particularly as it has been 10 years since my niece and older sister(aunt and niece) died.
I will hopefully get photos and upload them at a later date - probably put them on Facebook.

NEC
Yesterday(Friday) I went to the NEC along with my friend Jan. I drove using her car as she has RA. It took us just on 2 hours to get there and we had a really smooth journey to Birmingham. The show hadn't even opened when we got there! The doors eventually opened and we went in I had places I wanted to go and so did Jan so we split up and said we would meet at 11. I bought an embroidery kit I wanted and and a number of other things I had listed. Then stopped at Joanna Sheen and watched one of her girls demoing. Whilst there she said she would put our names in a hat and draw out one to win one of her cards and guess what my name came out. I now have a very lovely card.
Anyway the day went on with Jan and I meeting up and then going to do more shopping in the Crafts for Christmas hall Jan could have bought everything but she was very good and resisted.
I did a lot of the carry for Jan as she was beginning to wane so by 3pm we decided to go. This is where the problem was we got onto the M42 and needed to get to the M6 but there was no signs for the M6 but there was a sign for London which meant going on the M40 so we did!!! we ended up taking 3 hours to get home instead of about 2 what wallies we were but anyway we had a good day. I crossed 6 counties with the journey home.

Funky Fairys Challenge Blog: Challenge #39
Here is my entry for Challenge #39. I have used Funky Fairy pink circle for the background and keeping in with the circular theme used the circle paper from the Pink Xmas set, adding a lace border to the paper across the bottom is lilac grograin ribbon again with cirles on and a greeting with Happy birthday peel-off. The small flowers are attached to a circle punchie with brads and the middle circle has the same lace border around the edge with a larger silk flower attached in the middle.
As it is my daughter's birthday on the 3rd I thought this would be an appropriate card to give to her.

HSM3 and Netball
Have taken my daughter to see HSM3 tonight, thought the cinema would be packed but it wasn't.The film was good though, will probably have to get it when it comes on dvd as she has the others. Then we went to Hatfield to watch the Hertfordshire Netball team play (Mavericks) they won by a very narrow margin 30-24. Always a good game and completely different to how my school team play.
My eldest son has been to see 'Carmen' at Glyndebourne this evening, with his GCSE music, he enjoyed it although it was very long. A good experience for him as well.
Have a busy weekend taking my son to the farm so he can do his bit and then it is my turn on Sunday as I supervise the tearoom last Sunday of the month.

Just having 5 mins
Just got back from helping my sister, Beverly. She has a small farm on the A1 (Hertfordshire) which has a tea room, she has been very busy there today and I have been at a farmers market for her didn't do to badly she was happy with the takings anyway. She unfortunately is having to house our mother who is recovering from a hernia operation, which is very tiring for my sister. On top of that her mother-in-law(Nanny Sue) has returned home after being in hospital for 6 months, she has polio and has basically come home to die, there is nothing more they can do for her. It is really sad as Nanny Sue is a lovely lady, very talented despite her disabilities - writes poetry and paints. But to top all this my sister's marriage broke down at the end of the summer, her 'estranged' husband went off with another woman leaving Beverly to run the farm and look after her 2 children single-handed. But Beverly is a grafter and has the help of an Au Pair, my dad and a lovely couple - Julie & Trevor - who help her during the week.
She annouced that I was to 'do' Christmas this year so we are all up the farm to muck in with the turkey deliveries and 'do' dinner.

Saturday, 13 September 2008
This is a large card (A3) made for my daughter's Guide Leader. Her 40th falls on a Guide night, unfortunately Lillian wont be there. I have used an image stamp from Pink Petticoat, expanded it, and printed it onto an inked card then matt'd and layered onto pearlised silver paper and purple mirri card. The background is 2 sheets of PP Christmas 'Shooting stars' paper, then I covered the join using satin ribbon, the Happy Birthday across the middle came from a Haberdashers. I then used gems to form the necklace. I used a handbag and shoes image to complement the dress and of course the Guide Badge adorns the corner.
