Cross stitch picture
I stitched this picture back in May 2002 from a chart in issue 33 of Cross Stitch Crazy, I started it on Easter Sunday and it was finished by the Tuesday. The chart was specially desined for CSC.
I chose to stitch this picture as it reminds me of my own children and the age gaps between them.
Here is the picture alongside a print from Faye Whittacker, which I bought at a Hobbycraft(NEC) show and got her to sign.
And as you can see I sent a photo of my children(the centre picture) holding the picture into Cross Stitch Crazy to feature in their 'Show & Tell' feature, this was in September 2002. I was very proud to have my work featured. Unfortunately my children don't look as angelic now!!!

My new craft shed outside
This is my new shed, it was erected back in May and I have been very busy since then and finally found enough time last Sunday with my other half to finish the inside off.
This is the back wall, the drawers on the left are for embellishments and the drawers on the right contain pens, paints etc. The white cupboard is full of envelopes and card packs. The tall bookcase contains cross stitch mags and some papers.
This is the side wall, there is a small pine sideboard which contains more cross stitch and sewing bits. four more plastic drawer units sit on top of that and they contain essential bits and pieces. there are two filing cabinets the 4 drawer one contains coloured card, mirri card, special papers and card and the red two drawer cabinet contains peel-offs and clear stamps all in alphabetical order - very organised I think. the cabinet under the red one will be going in the house once I get my front room back to normal!
Here is the most important part of the shed, I have fitted a 2.5 metre worktop to do all my crafting on, I have a little way to go to get it clear but I'm sure I will suceed eventually. At the moment my sewing machine is missing from this area, it will sit where the spotty magazine file is at the moment. I have two office chairs installed as I have promised my friend she can come and craft alongside me. There is plenty of space for us to do this. I can also store more bits underneath the work surface. My intention is to put a TV in with freeview so we can watch Create and Craft etc, a kettle is also missing and I also need a bit of music. The shed is in a position that catches the afternoon sun and a few times this week it has been very hot, almost unbearable!
First cards made in new craft shed
Here are the first cards I have made in my new craft shed. I still have a bit of work to do to get it 'tidy' but it is well on the way to looking like a great place to work in. It is very quite, until the kids descend on me. It is in a position that gets the sun in the afternoon, and at the moment can get a little too warm even with both doors open.

FF Challenge 18 'BABY'
Here is my entry for this weeks challenge on Funky Fairy, they have chosen 'BABY' this week. The background is FF dotty,I have used gorguss ginghams in pastel colours for the key teether and joined them with a complementary ribbon, I have embellished the card using the same ribbon and used some small baby peel-offs along the ribbon. I used a purple pearlised backing for the teether as it got 'lost' on the dotty background.

Funky Hand Word Book
Here is my first word book made using the new Funky Hand word book cd (it arrived this morning) I have used 'Simply Lush' for the letters, I used 160gsm card and printed backing papers onto separate card and backed the letters to make it stronger. I have bound it together using Bind-it-all. I haven't filled in the book as it is a gift for a friends daughter, for her prom on Friday night. I was asked to make a sash to go around her dress so I have used scraps of the same fabric on the hinge and on the tags.
The cd isn't launched on the website until Monday 11th May.

FF Challenge 11 'Dare to be Square'
Here is my entry in the FF challenge for this week. I have made a springy card with a square top, I have used the turquoise block colour papers - just the darker shade though, a medallion from the funky garden collection which I reduced , then punched out the dots to form a lacy border, mounted this on a square piece of silver pearlised card, stamped a patchwork butterfly onto shrink plastic and coloured using watercolour pencils - my first attempt as well!, then mounted that onto the same silver pearlised card, used a 'square effect' peel-off border around the card to finish it off.

Thread Exchange Birthdays
I have been busy today having made a 40th birthday card this morning which had to go in the post urgently, then I made a Fat Page for the FF Blue Challenge, then I have made another card for Cupcake Craft Challenge.
These cards are for my birthday thread exchange which I have been involved in for quite a few years.

FF Challenge Blue
Here is my entry for the Blue challenge.
I have chosen to do a Fat Page. I am involved in a number of swaps and this is one of them I have to swap a Fat Page once a month.
I have used - free blue xmas background in turquoise, stamped an inspirational tag using Versa Colour Royal Blue, used stickles on the hydrangea and put navy ric-rac and fibres through the tag hole.
the stamp reads:
A fat page starts as a 4"x4" square of card, you leave a 0.5" margin down one side for the recipient to put their own holes in, you then decorate in a similar way to an ATC, on the reverse you can decorate and give details about your Fat Page. I have made an album to contain my own Fat Pages and ones that I recieve.
This Fat Page will go into my album.

GOOD NEWS!!!!!
Yesterday I had to wait to open an email for my daughter regarding her senior school allocation. I waited until she came home from school, which was delayed due to me having car problems, and on opening the email she had been allocated her 1st choice of school which is The John Henry Newman School in Stevenage, this school is the Roman Catholic senior school for the area and is extremely over-subscribed, in some cases siblings have not been allocated places. I feel very privileged to have been granted a place at the school.
My sons are at a local single sex school as JHN was not the right school for them.
