Cross stitch picture

I stitched this picture back in May 2002 from a chart in issue 33 of Cross Stitch Crazy, I started it on Easter Sunday and it was finished by the Tuesday. The chart was specially desined for CSC.
I chose to stitch this picture as it reminds me of my own children and the age gaps between them.

Here is the picture alongside a print from Faye Whittacker, which I bought at a Hobbycraft(NEC) show and got her to sign.

And as you can see I sent a photo of my children(the centre picture) holding the picture into Cross Stitch Crazy to feature in their 'Show & Tell' feature, this was in September 2002. I was very proud to have my work featured. Unfortunately my children don't look as angelic now!!!

My new craft shed outside

This is my new shed, it was erected back in May and I have been very busy since then and finally found enough time last Sunday with my other half to finish the inside off.

This is the back wall, the drawers on the left are for embellishments and the drawers on the right contain pens, paints etc. The white cupboard is full of envelopes and card packs. The tall bookcase contains cross stitch mags and some papers.

This is the side wall, there is a small pine sideboard which contains more cross stitch and sewing bits. four more plastic drawer units sit on top of that and they contain essential bits and pieces. there are two filing cabinets the 4 drawer one contains coloured card, mirri card, special papers and card and the red two drawer cabinet contains peel-offs and clear stamps all in alphabetical order - very organised I think. the cabinet under the red one will be going in the house once I get my front room back to normal!

Here is the most important part of the shed, I have fitted a 2.5 metre worktop to do all my crafting on, I have a little way to go to get it clear but I'm sure I will suceed eventually. At the moment my sewing machine is missing from this area, it will sit where the spotty magazine file is at the moment. I have two office chairs installed as I have promised my friend she can come and craft alongside me. There is plenty of space for us to do this. I can also store more bits underneath the work surface. My intention is to put a TV in with freeview so we can watch Create and Craft etc, a kettle is also missing and I also need a bit of music. The shed is in a position that catches the afternoon sun and a few times this week it has been very hot, almost unbearable!

First cards made in new craft shed

Here are the first cards I have made in my new craft shed. I still have a bit of work to do to get it 'tidy' but it is well on the way to looking like a great place to work in. It is very quite, until the kids descend on me. It is in a position that gets the sun in the afternoon, and at the moment can get a little too warm even with both doors open.
